I DIDN'T COME FROM MONEY

I HAD BIG ASPIRATIONS 

I always wanted to be a professional footballer but injury after injury robbed me of my dream and left me coaching sports in schools for £30 a day. Still on the hunt for success, I decided to head to University and pursue a career as a lawyer. But I couldn’t stand how disengaging the lectures were, so in 2007 I ended up dropping out and focusing on scaling my coaching business.

I SAW A WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY

During my time working as a coach I suddenly found myself staring at a huge opportunity to provide a much needed service to the entire education sector. What started as a one man band  turned into a 150 person company serving 100 schools across the country.

I ENCOUNTERED BIG HURDLES EARLY ON

Along the journey I discovered that running a business was much more  stressful than I had imagined. Members of staff were stealing clients and clients were stealing members of staff. I had been far too trusting of people and had to spend thousands of pounds on new contracts.

I NEARLY LOST EVERYTHING

Just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse I received the nightmare call from my finance director: “Jazz, we can’t make payroll.” The only way I could stop my business from going under was to put up my house as collateral and take out a hefty loan from the bank.

I GOT THE BUSINESS BACK ON TRACK

Finally it seemed like my bad luck had run out. I managed to make the business profitable and we were growing again at an encouraging rate. But I was traumatised from nearly losing the business and knew I couldn’t only rely on the business for financial security.

I DOUBLED DOWN ON PROPERTY

I had invested in properties in the past but now I was ready to scale my portfolio so that my passive income matched my active income. I bought my first property in 2009 and immediately rented two of the rooms out so that it covered the mortgage payments. This strategy allowed me to acquire properties quickly and I soon learnt which hotspots were the best places to buy.

I KEPT ON PUSHING

Thankfully the other properties in my portfolio allowed me to cover my loss without having to sell everything I own. And although I was shook from my last property deal, I took what I had learnt and continued to grow my portfolio and build a trusted team of advisers and agents around me.

I LOST £100,000

Although I had gotten off to a great start I soon learnt a lesson that I would never forget. I bought an off-plan new build that offered a guaranteed 10% yield. I thought it was a sure thing but the company went into liquidation and I was unable to claim anything back. I was left looking at a loss of £100,000 and there was nothing I could do about it.

I ACHIEVED FINANCIAL FREEDOM

By the time I was 34 and had acquired my twelfth property, I was generating enough rental income to cover  my expenses and my  lifestyle. Work was now an option rather than a necessity and I was free to spend my time doing the things I love with the people I care about. Rather than jump on a plane and spend my days sipping cocktails on the beach, I decided to do what I have always loved to do, educate others and share my knowledge.

I SET OFF ON A MISSION TO HELP OTHERS ACHIEVE FINANCIAL FREEDOM

Although I achieved financial freedom at the age of 34, I know that if I had the money mentality that I do now I could have achieved it by the age of 27. I spent 7 years running around like a headless chicken making big mistakes and focusing my time and energy on the wrong things.

So that’s why I want to help you to achieve what I have achieved but in half the time.
